Mother’s Empowerment Sisterhood Manifesto
I welcome you as a member of this gathering.
I hold you as a co-creator of our sacred space.
Here, in this circle, we are sisters. We root for each other’s well being and joy. Since we’re all unique, we resist the urge to compare ourselves to one another. We practice seeing each other’s innate beauty and brilliance, even when we can’t see it in ourselves. We will not attempt to fix one another because none of us are broken.
As your sister, I will listen to your heart and encourage your courage. If you express emotions I feel uncomfortable with, I will take care of myself without making your feelings wrong. I will help us remember that vulnerability is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Since there are an infinite number of ways to express ourselves, we will celebrate your unique expression. We will stand firmly in the truth that nobody – regardless of neurotype, age, race, religion, gender, sexuality, size, education, or nationality – is more important, valuable, or worthy than anyone else. We will resist the grip of perfectionism, and encourage you to do the same.
As we gather in sisterhood, we also come home to ourselves- leaving no parts behind. We truly are in this together.
Gently open your eyes and take a few more deep breaths. Feel the strength and love within you, knowing that you can tap into these resources whenever you need them.
